Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Sean O'Day sparks a love of learning everyday. I do not have to ever ask my daughter what she did at school. Every dinner she readily tells me about what happened and what she learned. She even started waking up earlier to make sure she is "ready for learning." His love of learning is obvious to everyone and he creates an energy in his classroom that makes others want to learn. He is a natural and very gifted teacher. My daughter tells me that while the work is challenging, it is worth it because she knows it is making her a better student and she is learning interesting things. I don't have to remind her about homework because she feels motivated to do well. That is something that is no small feat for a 6th grade teacher.

Mr. Sean O'Day exemplifies what it means to be a teacher. It's not just about teaching content, but rather, instilling a life long love of learning.
