Reston Theatre Major Works On Emerson College's 'Mary, Sweet Mary'

A theatre major from Reston served as the assistant director of Emerson College's recent production of "Mary, Sweet Mary.'

RESTON, VA — To shine a light on the accomplishments of college students from Reston, Patch shares information provided by the students' families and Merit News.

Reston college student Matthew Guerber served as the assistant director on the Emerson Stage Production of "Mary, Sweet Mary." The show ran from March 2-5, at the Greene Theater at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.

Written by student Munroe Shearer and directed by Joe Antoun, "Mary, Sweet Mary" examines the anxieties experienced by Queen Elizabeth I, as she struggled to balance her legacy and duties.

Guerber, a member of Emerson's class of 2025, is majoring in theatre in the school's Department of Performing Arts. He also participated in the Feb. 9-12 production of "The Secret in the Wings" in the Semel Theatre at Emerson College.

The following students were among the one of the 477 students who made the president's list for the fall 2022 semester at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.

To qualify for this honor, students enrolled in baccalaureate degree programs must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.90 or higher.

Stephanie Asante of Reston graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University during the fall 2022 Commencement Ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 9 in the Convocation Hall of the Student Success Center. Asante earned a master of science in nursing in nursing informatics.

Dylan Mulvaney, a physical education major from Reston, was named to the dean's list for academic excellence for the 2022 fall semester at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. To be named to the dean's list, a student must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term with a minimum semester grade average of 3.500.

Jeannine Grove, a Reston student majoring in social work, was named to the fall 2022 dean's honor list at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Students receive this achievement for obtaining a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Kerrie Schwartz of Reston was named to the fall 2022 dean's list at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dean's list status is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

The following students were named to the fall 2022 dean's list at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire:

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the dean's list

Lori Seabolt of Reston was named to the fall 2022 president's list at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the president's list.

Daniel Schlagel of Reston was one of more than 1,250 SUNY Oneonta students who earned dean's list honors for the fall 2022 semester. Schlagel is studying economics. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Robert Dingell, a resident of Reston majoring in business administration, made the 2022 fall dean's list at DeSales University in Center Valley, Ohio. To qualify for dean's list, a student must have a minimum 3.50 GPA on no fewer than 12 credit hours.

Katherine Weiss of Reston was named to the fall 2022 dean's list at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Weiss was among more than 2,000 students to achieve this honor. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Nora Thomas of Reston was named to the dean's list for the fall 2022 semester at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. Thomas is majoring in environmental studies. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Allison Kroon of Reston was named to the fall 2022 dean's list at SUNY Morrisville, in Morrisville, New York. To be named to the dean's list, a student must achieve a 3.0 to 3.99 grade-point average for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Mary Kugler of Reston was named to the fall 2022 dean's list at University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. To be included on the dean's list, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.
