From Reston Runners -

Based on split times, however, there is a very high probability that this runner was far removed from the scene of the bombing and thus will be fine.   Should any additional information be developed we will report further.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. "

Reston Association North Point Director Tim Cohn reports from Boston that the scene is "horrifying."

"I am OK," Cohn, former president of Reston Runners, emailed Patch at about 5 p.m.

"I was three blocks down Boylston Street when the bombs went off. I saw the smoke clouds and heard, but did not actually see, the explosions themselves. The scene was horrifying."

Update, 4:40 p.m.

These Reston competitors crossed the finish line - Matthew J. Clark; Selemon Getachew; Stephen H Nelson; Ned White; Jessica Hofheimer; Joseph Vida; Jie Zheng; Rob Jones; Ian Griffin; and Bob Reinhold.

The rest of the runners from Reston presumably were on the course when the explosives went off: Patrick Brown; Tim Cohn; Marianne Curren; Marcy Foster; Neva Fulkerson; Jeffery Madison; Tania Misaszek; Bin Mu; Jim Nagle; Cyndy Norford; Nathan Spong; Betty Suttler; Rhys Williams.

Friends say Cohn and Hofheimer have checked in with friends. If you have heard from your runner, post in the comments.

Original story -

The 117th Boston Marathon took place beginning Monday morning with 26 seconds of silence to honor Sandy Hook victims and about three hours after the first runners finished, there were reports of explosions near the finish line.

Sadly, two booms were heard from inside the Fairmount Copley Hotel near the finish line on Boylston Street. There are also reports of multiple serious injuries, but no word yet on how many people were injured, or whether those injured were spectators or runners.
