SAIC Wins Leading Role On $192M Air Force Digital Infrastructure Contract
Reston-based SAIC was awarded a leading position on a $192M U.S. Air Force digital infrastructure contract.
RESTON, VA — Reston-based Science Applications International Corp. has been awarded a leading position on a U.S. Air Force digital infrastructure contract with an estimated value of $192 million, the company announced Monday.
The contract is part of the Department of the Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System Digital Infrastructure Network Developer program. SAIC said the work will support the DAF Battle Network program and the Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control infrastructure.
Under the contract, SAIC will help design, develop and deploy elements of the DAF Battle Network, according to the company. The work is intended to improve command, control and communications across military operations in air, land, space, maritime and cyber domains.

“We’re honored to help the Air Force build a modernized digital backbone that arms warfighters with real-time data to help them fight and win now and into the future,” Vinnie DiFronzo, SAIC executive vice president of the Air Force, Space and Intelligence Business Group, said in the announcement.

DiFronzo said the company will work to deliver data to military users securely and quickly, adding that SAIC will integrate data across classification levels and domains.
SAIC said the contract includes work involving networking, command, control and communications, artificial intelligence, cloud and digital engineering. The technical scope includes optical transport networks, software-defined wide area networking, cross-domain solutions, data distribution and cloud-enabled infrastructure integration.
The company said it also plans to work with network and original equipment manufacturer companies to integrate commercial and emerging technologies.
SAIC is headquartered in Reston and has about 23,000 employees, according to the company. It reported annual revenue of about $7.3 billion.
