Shooting Into 3 Reston Townhomes Leads To Arrest Of Herndon Man
A 26-year-old Herndon man was arrested late Wednesday night in connection with a shooting incident in the Hattontown area near Reston.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police arrested 26-year-old Sangram Singh Grewal of Herndon late Wednesday night in connection with a series of shootings in the Hattontown area near Reston.
Police responded around 11:05 p.m. to the 13000 block of Ashnut Lane for the report of the sound of gunshots. Officers determined that someone had damaged the rear of three townhouses with gunfire. The homes were empty at the time of the shootings and no one was injured.
After canvassing the area, investigators found multiple cartridge cases on the rear deck of a home. Members of FCPD's Special Weapons and Tactics Team responded to the home to execute a search warrant, according to police.

Police took Grewal into custody and recovered two firearms, several magazines, and ammunition from the home. They also served Grewal with an Emergency Substantial Risk Order and FCPD's Threat Assessment and Management Unit was assigned to assist the investigation.

After being taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, Grewal was charged with three counts each of attempted malicious wounding, maliciously discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, and unlawful discharge of a Firearm. He was then held without bond.
