The brisk evening was kicked off by the dulcet tones of Senior Announcer Bryan Thomas broadcasting the starting lineups for each team. In spite of the grand introductions, the Seahawks fell behind early by two goals. The Seahawks where then able to get quickly back into the game. Sophomore midfielder Taylor Newman-Farr controlled the next draw, leading to the first goal for the Seahawks by Senior Megan Greatorex. Senior midfielder Katie Thomas garnered the ensuing draw, and Junior Kristina Woodward fired a powerful shot off of a feed from Greatorex to knot the score at two goals apiece. The teams traded goals with Senior Gabrielle Parisi and with Greatorex scoring to even the score at 5. Before halftime, Freshman Alexandra Heishman hustled to track down one of her many ground ball controls and got the ball to Thomas for a goal to give the Seahawks a one goal 6-5 lead heading into halftime.

The Seahawks had a quick start to the second half. Freshman defender Jesse Lynch’s quickness resulted in a steal for the Seahawks leading to a goal by Newman-Farr. Attack Heishman scored a goal giving the Seahawks a 8-5 lead. The Generals kept playing hard and crept back into the game at 9-7, with Thomas scoring her second goal of the game between the Generals’ goals. The Generals kept pressuring the Seahawks, but the stellar defense of the Seahawks, backed by numerous acrobatic saves from goalie Caitlyn Maginniss, kept the Seahawks safely in the lead. Senior defenders Josie Wnek, Nicole Salvatore, and Leah Duffy hustled to each loose ball, played hard-nosed defense, and refused to allow the visitors back in the game. Three more goals from Greatorex, and goals by Junior Emma Rygiel and Parisi completed the scoring for the Seahawks, providing the final six goal margin of victory.
