South Lakes High Takes Down Herndon, Remains Undefeated
The Seahawks remain undefeated and now face a stiff matchup against James Madison, also undefeated.

HERNDON, VA — The South Lakes Seahawks continued their dominant 2016 run on Friday, defeating their rivals in Herndon and remaining undefeated on the season with a 56-23 win at J.L. Griffitts Stadium.
Herndon wasn't having as good of a start, entering the game with a 1-4 record, but you never know what to expect when it comes to the crosstown Herndon High - South Lakes High rivalry. In the end, however, Herndon was unable to keep up with the rolling Seahawks, who are now 6-0 and have put themselves in good position to move further up the Washington Post's Top 20 list (they currently sit at No. 19).
South Lakes has turned the tables on Herndon High in recent years, winning four of the last five meetings -- in the 10 seasons before that, they had won just once, according to a report from South Lakes Athletics.

The annual game is known as the Baron Cameron Bowl, and it was the visiting team that got to celebrate by hoisting the Baron Cameron Bowl trophy. It was another dominant offensive performance for South Lakes, which has put up an average of 62.3 points per game in their last three games, and allowed just 16.3, according to the report.
Next week, South Lakes will play host to another rival, James Madison, and it will be true measuring stick game for the Seahawks -- the Warhawks are also 6-0 and are ranked No. 8 on the Washington Post rankings. James Madison defeated South Lakes 38-6 last year.
