South Lakes High vs. James Madison Leading Votes in DMV Game of the Week Poll
A WTOP poll shows that this weekend's matchup between the Reston and Vienna high schools may be the DMV's most anticipated clash.
RESTON, VA — It will be an epic contest between two titans of the area: the undefeated offensive juggernaut that is Reston's South Lakes Seahawks will host Vienna's James Madison Warhawks. Both teams are 6-0 and ranked in the Washington Post's Top 20 teams in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) area, and a poll currently posted on WTOP seems to indicate it's the most highly anticipated matchup of this upcoming weekend.
As of late Tuesday morning, Madison vs. South Lakes had 57 percent of the votes (3,214 votes) to be named DMV Game of the Week for 10/14-15, compared to 40 percent for Eleanor Roosevelt vs. Wise and 4 percent for DeMatha vs. Gonzaga.
The Seahawks are coming off a 56-23 win against crosstown rivals Herndon. They have averaged a whopping 62.3 points per game in their last three games, while only giving up 16.3 points to opponents.

James Madison was ranked No. 8 in the Post's latest rankings. South Lakes was ranked No. 18, moving up a spot since last week. James Madison defeated South Lakes 38-6 last year.
