Suspect In 2 Reston Robbery Cases Believed To Be Same Man: Police
Detectives from the Reston District Station of the Fairfax County Police released two composite sketches of a man wanted for two robberies.
RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police detectives are asking the public's help in identifying and locating a man suspected of committing two robberies in Reston over the last two months.
The first incident occurred on July 26, when a man tried to steal a woman's backpack near the 11900 block of Barrell Cooper Court in Reston. Police say that he threatened to take her child if she didn't give him her belongings.
The suspect was described as a thin-built Hispanic man, between the ages of 20-25, who stood about 5-foot-6, according to police.

The second incident took place on Aug. 9, when two men approached two women walking on a trail in the area of the 12000 block of Greywing Square, according to police. One of the men pepper-sprayed the women, stole one of their purses, and then ran off.
Police described the man who pepper-sprayed the women and stole the purse as a tall, dark-haired Hispanic man, who was about 19-years-old and had facial hair on his chin. The second man was about 16-years-old and short, wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts, according to police.

Investigators believe that the man in the July 26 robbery and the man who took the purse on Aug. 9 are the same person. FCPD released composite sketches of the man wanted in both those cases. A composite sketch or the second man in the Aug. 9 robbery was not available.
