The judge ruled that brain damage caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound had left the teen unable to understand trial proceedings.

The teenager accused of killing his girlfriend's parents in their Reston home last December is still incompetent to stand trial, a judge ruled according to a report.
The Washington Post reports that the now-18-year-old Lorton teen, who was charged as a juvenile with the killings of 43-year-old Buckley Kuhn-Fricker and 48-year-old Scott Fricker on Dec. 22, has been held at a juvenile detention center in Fairfax after he was hospitalized from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the killings. The Post did not identify the teen, but reports have indicated his name is Nicholas Giampa.

The psychologists reportedly believe that the teen suffered brain damage from shooting himself that makes him unable to fully understand trial proceedings and assist his attorneys in building a case.
The girlfriend's parents intervened in their relationship after discovering the boy's neo-Nazi views, according to reports, and eventually their daughter agreed not to see him anymore.

The boy also reportedly mowed a 40-foot swastika into a community field in Lorton earlier in the year. A Twitter account that was linked to him featured racist and bigoted views, particularly about Jews and transgendered people.
The alleged killer apparently came to the Fricker house armed to the teeth, as investigators found 10 cartridge cases, a knife, and a hammer at the scene, according to The Washington Post. Police believe the boy murdered the couple when they confronted him after he sneaked into their daughter's bedroom early that morning. There were blood stains on the walls and floors, as well as bullet fragments and holes in the office, ceiling, and hallway, according to search warrants.
"The preliminary investigation determined the suspect, who knows the residents of the home, got inside and was then confronted by the couple," police said in a statement. "The suspect shot them both and then himself. Four other family members who were home at the time of the shooting were not hurt."
One of the search warrants quoted by the Post states that there had been communication between Buckley Kuhn-Fricker and the family of the suspect, which may have been a text to the suspect's mother saying the two could no longer date.
