The Burgers Every Gluten-Freebird in DMV Should Try

There are lots of burger joints in the DMV. Once you have been forced to give up gluten, or if you have just chosen to, the numbers of available chow dwindles tremendously. I want to be sure that my gentle readers have got the skinny on the best gut busting gluten free burgers around. Most burger providers have gluten free patties, but do not offer a bun for those who cannot handle the big bad wheat. They offer to wrap your burger in lettuce. Call me old fashion, but if it isn’t on a bun, it is a chopped steak, which is fine if that is what you are after.

Located in Reston Town Center, The Counter this locale boasts modern and hip décor, and their food is pretty darn awesome. This would be my first pick. Everything on their menu is customizable. It is also, unfortunately, ala carte. This makes it a little pricier than the other picks here today, but for what you get, I am sticking with this baby as my first choice. You can pick how big your burger will be, and the GF bun is quite tasty. The French fries are delish, and made in a separate fryer to ensure they are GF. They also offer a Nutella Milkshake which is truly divine.

Red Robin is always the bomb. They too offer a gluten free bun, and fries cooked in a separate fryer. The Counter has it a little over RR, but for a tight burger, RR is a supreme choice. My personal fave is the shroom burger. They have wonderful shakes and smoothies.

Glory Days is  a local chain. A solid choice, but the bun is not quite as show stopping as the first two.  Fries also made in separate fryer. They also have additional items on their GF menu.
