Toys R Us Stores Near Reston Are Closing

The retailer will be shutting down for good, which means several nearby stores are closing.

RESTON, VA -- The end has come for Toys R Us, the once mighty retailer that ruled the toy industry. And that means stores in the Reston area will be closing for good.

Toys R Us will close or sell all of its more than 800 stores scattered across the United States after it failed to come up with a plan that would save about 200 of them. The retailer has already started liquidating about 180 stores, according to CNBC, after Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy protect last September as it struggled with $5 billion in debt.

Toys R Us has two stores relatively close to Reston -- one at 46300 Potomac Run Plaza in Sterling, and the other at 13035 Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax.
