Wanted Man Shoots At Reston District Police Station: Police

Police say they later found that the weapon was a realistic looking BB gun.

RESTON, VA -- Police have arrested a wanted man after they say he shot at the Reston District Police Station with a realistic looking BB gun.

Police on bicycles who were patrolling the area near the station in the 1800 block of Cameron Glen Drive saw a wanted man in the area at around 1 p.m. on May 23, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"As they approached the man they saw him stand up, and point a firearm at the Reston District Station, and then heard three to four ‘pops’," the report states. "Officers took the subject into custody, and found the weapon was a realistic looking ‘BB gun’."

Police arrested 38-year-old Carlos Cherry, who has a pending warrant for failing to appear in court for a felony offense. He is charged with shooting a missile into an occupied building.
