Updated: Woman Charged For Bomb Threat, Multiple Assaults: Police

Fairfax County Police arrested a 29-year-old woman who barricaded herself inside a Reston apartment and threatened to bomb the building.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police arrested a 29-year-old woman after she barricaded herself inside a Reston apartment on Sunday night, according to a police release.

Officers responded around 4:51 p.m., to the 2200 block of Stone Wheel Drive for the report of a domestic assault. After police determined that Iesha Walker, 29, had assaulted a family member, they obtained a felony domestic assault warrant. When they attempted to serve the warrant, police learned that Walker had barricaded herself in a nearby apartment.

When police made contact with Walker, she threatened to burn the building, harm two people inside the apartment, and shoot anyone who entered the apartment.

Crisis negotiators and members of the Special Operations Division arrived on the scene and tried to de-escalate the situation over the phone. Walker continued to make threats against the other people inside the apartment, according to police.

In order to protect the victims' safety, Special Operation Division officers forced their way into the apartment and took Walker into custody. During the apprehension, Walker assaulted several officers.

Fairfax Police charged Walker with her third offense for assaulting a family member. She was also charged with making threats to bomb or burn and 11 counts of assault on law enforcement.

Walker is being held without bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
