American Cancer Society names Estes Express Lines National Road To Recovery® Brand Partner of the Year
Company recognized after contributing more than $1 million and helping expand transportation access for cancer patients nationwide.
The American Cancer Society recognized Estes Express Lines as the national Road To Recovery® Brand Partner of the Year during a special award presentation in April at the company’s headquarters in Richmond.
The Road To Recovery® program provides free rides to and from cancer-related medical appointments for those in need. The Brand Partner of the Year award honors an organization whose partnership has made a significant impact on improving access to care for people with cancer by supporting transportation to lifesaving treatment.
As part of its longstanding work to support the American Cancer Society, Estes recently wrapped 26 trailers with Road To Recovery® branding and QR codes to help raise awareness nationwide and highlight the importance of transportation access for patients. The effort is part of the company’s Open Heart, Open Road charitable giving program, which transforms its national fleet into mobile billboards for causes selected through their employee-directed giving campaign.

“Estes has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to ensuring patients can access the care they need,” Hu said. “Through innovation, generosity and employee engagement, they are helping remove one of the biggest barriers to cancer treatment — transportation.”
In less than a year, the trailers have traveled nearly a combined 160,000 miles across the country and will continue to spread hope and lifesaving information for years to come.

In addition to awareness efforts, Estes has made significant financial contributions to the American Cancer Society, including more than $70,000 over the last two years through its employee-directed giving campaign. It also added an additional $10,000 directed to Road To Recovery® and access-to-care initiatives. The company’s total giving to the American Cancer Society exceeds $1 million.
