2. Richmond hosts recycling and disposal event for residents (wric.com) — Richmond residents can drop off documents, electronics, and certain hazardous household items for free at a city recycling and disposal event on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1710 Robin Hood Road. The city's public works and utilities departments aim to keep waste out of landfills and waterways while supporting local sustainability goals.
3. Virginia health leaders track uptick in rabies cases (12onyourside.com) — Health officials are watching a small rise in rabies cases in the Richmond area, including a bat case in the city, while reminding residents that confirmed infections remain rare. 4.
