Residents of Avery Point, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Short Pump, Va., rallied together to organize a heartfelt food drive in support of their local first responders. The initiative, which garnered significant community involvement, saw residents generously donating 12 bags and 10 boxes of assorted food items, along with gift cards, for the Goochland EMS/first responders.

The collection encompassed a wide array of snacks, ranging from crackers to nuts, as well as essential canned goods to bolster the responders' pantry supplies. Spearheading this endeavor was resident Marge Brunning, whose suggestion to hold a food drive to express gratitude to the local heroes was warmly embraced by Avery Point's Resident Advisory Council.

"Thank you to all the residents and staff who contributed so generously to our collection of snacks and pantry staples for our Goochland EMS! Your kindness knows no bounds, and the crew at Station 1 was truly delighted when we delivered the truckload of 'goodies'," said Brunning.
