Celebrate Virginia Craft Beer Month with the Virginia Museum of History &amp; Culture as it hosts the ninth&nbsp;annual Virginia Brews craft beer festival on Saturday, August 1st. This year’s event will feature a selection of brews from&nbsp;across the Commonwealth, live music, food trucks, and access to all of the museum’s exhibitions, including access to the museum’s newest exhibitions,&nbsp;We The People: The World in Our Commonwealth, and&nbsp;Un/Bound: Free Black Virginians, 1619-1865.
In addition, watch traditional barrel making demonstrations by Marshall Scheetz of Jamestown Cooperge as we prepare to commemorate America's 250th.&nbsp;
Scheetz practices tight, dry, and white coopering and creates accurate reproductions of period cooperage including hogsheads, barrels, firkins, butter churns, tubs, piggins, tankards and other coopered containers.&nbsp;Scheetz is an independent scholar&nbsp;researching and documenting the culture and economy of coopers from the 18th and 19th centuries. He collaborates with museums and educational institutions to promote understanding of coopering and coopered containers.

MHSS supports individuals who need help with managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or PTSD; improving medication consistency; developing coping and emotional regulation skills; strengthening daily living skills such as cleaning, hygiene, nutrition, and routines; and building healthy social connections. MHSS also assists with organization, budgeting, employment readiness, and navigating community resources such as housing and benefits.
