Richmond Police Department: Hammond Avenue Death Investigation
The Medical Examiner will determine manner and cause of death, police said.

At
approximately 6:58 a.m., Richmond Police responded to the 1100 block of
Hammond Avenue for a person down. Officers arrived and located an adult
female with apparent injuries down and unresponsive on a sidewalk. She was
pronounced dead at the scene.

Medical
Examiner will determine manner and cause of death. The
northbound lane of Brook Road has been closed this morning to accommodate the
investigation. Neighbors
reported hearing a disturbance last evening. Detectives are asking anyone who
may have heard or seen unusual or suspicious activity in the area last night or
this morning to contact detectives. Anyone
with information about this death investigation is asked to call Major
