Richmond Police Department: North Jefferson Street Homicide And Aggravated Assault

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death, police said.

At
approximately 12:52 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of North
Jefferson Street for the report of a stabbing. Officers arrived and found two
adult females in a structure who were suffering from stab wounds. They were
both transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered life
threatening. One victim succumbed to her wounds at the hospital.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause
and manner of death. A suspect, an adult male, was taken into
custody near the scene and detectives are not looking for any other suspects at
this time. When made available by detectives, information about the suspect and
identity of the victim will be released. Anyone
