Inova to Hold 'Battle of the Badges' Blood Drive for Start of World Police & Fire Games
Once again, police officers and firefighters are saving lives, but who says that can't involve a little friendly competition?

As a sponsor of this year’s World Police & Fire Games, which began this week throughout Fairfax County, Inova Blood Donor Services has organized a blood drive that pits police officers and firefighters against one another, all for a common good.
On Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Inova is hosting the “Battle of the Badges” blood drive and competition. All badge-carrying personnel attending the games are invited to participate in the blood drive, and their donations will be counted toward their respective team depending on if they’re a police officer or a firefighter.
Family members, friends and supporters of these badge-carrying heroes, as well as anyone from the general public who meets age and weight requirements to donate, are also welcomed to participate. They will then have the choice as to which team they’d like their donation to count toward.

Those who donate will receive a free t-shirt in return representing the team for which they donated: Police or Fire.
The Inova Blood Donor Services Bloodmobile will be set up at 7900 Westpark Drive, Suite A550 in Tysons Corner. A photo I.D. is required to donate blood, and those wishing to donate are advised to dedicate an hour to the process.
