Local Author Bringing Popular Book Tour to Tysons Corner

Andy Symonds will be signing copies of his new book 'My Father's Son' on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Barnes & Noble in Tysons Corner Cent

Local author Andy Symonds was an employee at Microsoft when his new novel, My Father’s Son, hit bookshelves across the country.

The book was a hit, growing more popular than Symonds originally anticipated. He left his job at Microsoft and began promoting the book full-time as he works on his second novel.

Now his recent promotion tour is bringing him home to Northern Virginia this weekend for a book signing at the Barnes & Noble inside Tysons Corner Center.

The signing will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, and will last from 2-4 p.m. There are a number of Navy SEALs and other military members and veterans expected to be in attendance to celebrate the book.

My Father’s Son tells the story of a boy whose father, a Navy SEAL, is killed in combat. The boy must now rely on himself and his father’s military brothers to follow the path to manhood, living in the shadow of a war hero through it all.
