Sex Offender Strikes on Chain Bridge Road, Driver Ignores July 4 Traffic Stop: McLean District Reports

Fairfax County Police were called to investigate a sex offense that occurred on the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road in McLean last Wednesday evening.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 10:18 p.m. A woman was walking when a strange man approached her, touched her inappropriately, then fled the scene. The victim was said not to need medical attention, according to the FCPD Daily Police Blotter.
The suspect was described at a white male in his 20s standing about 5-foot-8. He was wearing blue jeans, a blue t-shirt and carrying a backpack.

Authorities were also tasked with keeping local roads safe following Independence Day festivities, resulting in another incident in the McLean district early Sunday morning.
A driver approached a traffic stop at the intersection of Fashion Boulevard and Leesburg Pike in McLean at approximately 12:35 a.m. Sunday morning. However, rather than comply with the traffic stop the driver disregarded authorities on site and instead drove away.

Police eventually tracked down the vehicle in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center. The driver, Jerome J. Diggs, 21, of Fort Washington, Md., was arrested and charged with disregarding signal to stop by police, reckless driving, disregarding a red light and fail to obey a highway sign.
