Tysons-Area Kiwanis Club Hosting Membership Week in September
The Kiwanis Club provides community service and youth engagement programs to communities across the globe.

The Kiwanis Club of Tysons Corner/McLean is sponsoring a week-long membership drive later this month in the hopes of expanding membership while also promoting the club’s core values: Community service and youth engagement.
The Kiwanis Club is an international organization with chapters all across the globe, including the chapter in Tysons. According to a Kiwanis press release, the organization spans more than 600,000 members and raises more than $100 million annually and donates more than 18 million service hours to serve various communities and the children in those communities.
The Tysons Corner/McLean Kiwanis Club currently sponsors 11 high school Key Clubs, two college Circle K/CKI clubs, two elementary school K-Kids Clubs, and one Aktion Club.

Members must be 18 years of age, but children are permitted to participate in Kiwanis service events so long as they’re accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Saturday, Sept. 12: Club members will participate in a Generosity Feeds event at New Life Christian Church in Chantilly.
Tuesday, Sept. 15: The club is sponsoring a social for prospective members at 6 p.m. at the Noodles & Company location in the Idylwood Shopping Center in Falls Church. (The club will hold its monthly club meeting the same evening at 7:30 p.m. in the library of Shrevewood Elementary School.)
Friday, Sept. 18: The club is sponsoring another social for prospective members at 7 p.m. at GlowGolf, located in Springfield.
Sunday, Sept. 20: The Kiwanis Club will host a Family Bowling Day from 2-4 p.m. at AMF Lanes in Annandale. To purchase tickets for the event, click here.
In addition to the Tysons Corner/McLean club, there are local Kiwanis Clubs in Fairfax, Alexandria, Arlington, South Arlington, Mount Vernon and Leesburg.
