United Bank Robbed Tuesday on Leesburg Pike

Bank was held up Tuesday morning; no word yet on a suspect or suspects.

The United Bank on Leesburg Pike was robbed on Tuesday morning, a Fairfax County Police spokeswoman has confirmed.

The bank robbery took place at approximately 11:20 a.m. Tuesday at the bank, located at 7787 Leesburg Pike. The location is very close to the I-495 Beltway.

A Patch reader who lives nearby and was home on her lunch break said she could see police tape up at the scene and multiple police vehicles.

No word yet from police on a description of a suspect or suspects.

The bank was also robbed last year on Oct. 15, 2013. That robbery also took place on a Tuesday, at 11 a.m. That suspect was described as a black male, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, about 180 pounds with a medium build. He was described as having a long black beard and was wearing sunglasses.
