• FCPS starts new school year with full cellphone ban, fewer crossing guards and other changes (ffxnow.com) — West Springfield High School students will start the year without crossing guards, under Fairfax County's new cost-cutting changes that affect several high schools. FCPS is also enforcing a full cellphone and smartwatch ban during the school day, tightening tech use, expanding weapons screening and bag rules at football games, and broadening free virtual mental health services for students.
