Asghedom Abraha was sitting in a convenience store reading a newspaper when he scratched the 10x the Money ticket he’d bought a few moments earlier. He quickly realized he’d won big. But no one around him would have ever known.
“I knew it was a winner, but I tried not to react,” he said as he claimed his prize. “Then I walked away.”

The Accokeek, Maryland, man did indeed win the $100,000 top prize. He bought the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven at 4949 Seminary Road in Alexandria. He said he works in a restaurant nearby.
10x the Money (Game #1444) is one of dozens of Scratcher games available from the Virginia Lottery. Since the last top prize in this game has been claimed, the game has been closed. It’s the Virginia Lottery’s policy to close Scratcher games as soon as the final top prize is claimed.
