Alexandria Crime Report: Sex Assaults on King Street, Slaters Lane

Incidents took place Thursday and Friday. A look at Alexandria crime from RAIDS Online, for the past week, Oct. 12-19.

UPDATE 10:40 a.m.: Alexandria Police have provided new information Monday morning on several sex assaults reported on RAIDS online (information which comes from the police department):

  • The sex assault on Slaters Lane was a person known to the victim.
  • The incident on King Street was a subject known to the victim and unfounded after investigation.
  • A sexual offense reported Friday on Mount Vernon Avenue is being investigated.

Two sex assaults were among the dozens of crimes that have taken place in the City of Alexandria the past week, according to RAIDS Online, an online crime mapping Web site. In all, four sex assaults were reported for the month so far.

The first sex assault took place Thursday night at 11:40 p.m. on Slaters Lane; the second took place Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the 14XX block of King Street. Exact addresses are not given. It’s uncertain whether any arrests have been made in the assaults; the King Street case is identified as “Open” on the RAIDS Web site; the Slaters Lane incident is listed as “Pending.”

  • Oct. 1, 3:30 p.m., 1XX S. Bragg St. — It appears from RAIDS Online that an arrest is pending.
  • Oct. 2, 10:17 p.m., 53XX Holmes Run — It appears from RAIDS Online that no arrest has been made.

Sunday, Oct. 12

  • 12:37 a.m. 31XX Duke Street: Assault: Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
  • 4:01 p.m., 31XX Jefferon: Fraud: Victim reported that an unknown suspect used personal credit card information to make fraudulent purchases
  • 4:17 a.m., 5XX Four Mile Road: Vandalism: Known subject was to return cell phone to original owner, but instead threw the cell phone on the grown destroying it.
  • 4:33 a.m., 9XX Gibbon Street: Aggravated Assault: Victim was attacked and stabbed by known subject who ran from the scene.
  • 12:44 p.m., 23XX Jefferson: Theft: Victim reported she inadvertently left her cell phone on the counter in the gas station at this location and when she returned to retrieve it the phone was gone.
  • 2:11 p.m., 44XX Braddock Road, Death Investigation
  • 3 p.m., 47XX W. Braddock Road, Theft: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole her ipad from her apartment.
  • 3:20 p.m., 15XX Commonwealth Avenue: Motor Vehicle Theft: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his moped parked on the street in front of victim’s apartment building
  • 3:54 p.m., 18XX W. Abingdon Drive: Vandalism: Victim reported that a neighbor was tampering with her mail and that his presence frightened her.
  • 6:08 p.m., 36XX King Street: Burglary from Motor Vehicle: Unknown suspect/s stole victim’s wallet and its contents from victim’s unlocked vehicle parked in this area.
  • 6:26 p.m., 31XX Jefferson: Shoplifting: Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
  • 7:14 p.m., 39XX Duke Street, Theft: Unknown suspect stole victim’s bicycle from the backyard of victim’s residence.
  • 7:18 p.m., 28XX Park Center Drive, Theft: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole her purse she left unattended in the bedroom of the apartment where she was attending a party.
  • 8:08 p.m., 7XX N. Royal Street: Burglary from Motor Vehicle: Unknown suspect/s stole victim’s expiration stickers from her vehicle parked on the street at this location.
  • 8:45 p.m., 2XX Evans Lane: Vandalism: Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other
  • 8:57 p.m., 38XX Executive Avenue: Burglary Residential: Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered his apartment through the back door and stole a various asssortment of guns kept in a closet.
  • 11:49 p.m., 6XX Four Mile Road: Assault: Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.

Monday, Oct. 13

  • 9:38 a.m., 1XX Evans Lane: Aggravated Assault: Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other
  • 1:46 p.m. 16XX Francis: Vandalism/Burglary Residential: Unknown suspect/s entered victim’s residence by throwing a rock through the kitchen window and ransacked the interior stealing numerous items.
  • 2:28 p.m., 12XX S. Washington St.: Residential Burglary/Vandalism: Victim reported that on different occasions an unknown suspect/s entered her apartment by unknown means and cut the wire to her electric fan, stole a platinum and diamond necklace, and that one of her shoes was missing.
  • 2:28 p.m., 12XX S. Washington St.: Motor Vehicle Theft: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his locked vehicle parked on the street at this location
  • 3:04 p.m., 47XX Eisenhower Avenue, Commercial Burglary/Theft: Manager of business at this location reported unknown suspect/s entered the garage and stole various tools belonging to other employees of the company.
  • 4:18 p.m., 11XX Martha Custis Drive: Robbery: Victim was confronted by three juveniles, was punched in the face and had his iPhone taken from him and destroyed.
  • 7:32 p.m.,38XX Milan Drive: Assault: Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
  • 9:25 p.m., 12XX Cameron St.: Burglary from Motor Vehicle/Assault: Victim reported known subject stole a backpack from his unlocked vehicle.

  • 9:22 a.m., 51XX Maris Avenue, Burglary from Motor Vehicle: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole all four tires and rims as well as change from his vehicle parked in this area.
  • 10:42 a.m., 1XX S. Patrick St., Theft: Victim reported his phone was stolen from the table he left it on at the restaurant at this location
  • 10:44 a.m., 46XX Seminary Road, Theft: Victim hired unknown subjects to assist in moving her from one apartment to another. When she was finished moving she paid her help and then discovered many items (wallet, laptop, games, money) were missing during the move.
  • 1:44 p.m., 3XX Princess St.: Vandalism/Burglary: Unknown suspect/s stole victim’s parking sticker from his vehicle.
  • 2:40 p.m., 3XX N. Ripley Street, Burglary from Motor Vehicle: Victim reported unknown suspects stole her wallet from her open, unlocked vehicle parked on the street as the victim delivered items to a customer.
  • 3:29 p.m.: 10XX N. Royal Street: Theft: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his bicycle from the condominium garage at this location
  • 3:59 p.m., 1XX S. Van Dorn Street, Motor Vehicle Theft: Pending Unknown suspect/s stole victim’s vehicle parked in the lot at this location.
  • 4:09 p.m.: 58XX Duke Street, Vandalism: Unknown suspect/s damaged six vehicles belonging to a car dealership and located at a satellite location at this address.
  • 4:27 p.m.: 3XX S. Reynolds Street, Vandalism: Unknown suspect evidently kicked a hole in the wall in the mail room of the building at this location
  • 6:47 p.m., 43XX King Street, Theft: Unknown suspect/s broke into victim’s locker at the gym at this location and stole his wallet and its contents, his cell phone and other small items.
  • 6:56 p.m.: 6XX E. Monroe Avenue: Theft: Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole victim’s laptop and iphone from her apartment.
  • 7:21 p.m., 41XX Usher Avenue, Motor Vehicle Theft: Victim reported a former employee has not returned the company truck he was issued. Subject was reportedly in the hospital for a heart attack.
  • 8:27 p.m., Leadbetter Street: Theft: Victim reported that an unknown suspect used personal credit card information to make fraudulent purchases
  • 8:30 p.m., 2XX S. Van Dorn Street, Assault: Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
  • 9:42 p.m., 43XX King Street, Burglary from Motor Vehicle/Theft: Two victims reported unknown suspect/s entered their lockers and stole wallets and a set of car keys as well as other personal belongings. One of the victims also had his vehicle entered with the stolen keys.
  • 10:24 p.m.: 38XX Florence Drive:: Assault/Robbery: Victim was attacked by four unknown juveniles and robbed of his book bag, watch, iPhone, money and pants while going home from soccer practice.
  • 11:36 p.m., 61XX Lincolnia Road, Assault: Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.

Wednesday, Oct. 15

  • 9:17 a.m, 1XX E. Raymond Avenue, Burglary from Motor Vehicle: Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered her vehicle parked in her driveway and stole coins from the consol
  • 10:12 a.m., 26XX Main Lane: Commercial Burglary/Vandalism: Unknown suspect/s entered the construction site and cut the locks on one of the storage trailers and stole tools and equipment.

  • 8:19 a.m., 27XX Dartmouth Road: Burglary from Motor Vehicle/Vandalism: Victim reported unknown suspect/s smashed the passenger side door window of his vehicle and stole his iPod
  • 9:48 a.m., 1XX S. Bragg Street, Assault: Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other
  • 10:23 a.m., 9XX S. Washington St.: Vandalism: Unknown suspect/s bent and broke one of the windshield wipers on her vehicle parked in the lot at her resident apartment building.
