For Immediate Release: February 17, 2021
The Alexandria Police Department is conducting a sudden death investigation that
happened in the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.
On February 16, 2021, a passerby noticed a woman not moving on the ground at a
bus stop a little after 5:30 a.m. and 911 was called. The woman has been identified as 49-year-old
Isabelle Hernandez Saballa, who also went by “Dora,” and was a known subject in
the community.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will
determine Ms. Saballa’s cause and manner of death, but at this time, it does
not appear to be suspicious. Next of kin has been notified.
