ATT Expands Coverage to More Alexandria Residents and Businesses

AT&T has upgraded an additional mobile Internet cell site near Van Dorn Street and Holmes Run Parkway for better 4G LTE coverage.

Good news for AT&T users in Alexandria - your wireless provider has upgraded an additional mobile internet cell site, expanding 4G LTE coverage in the area. AT&T’s 4G LTE network is the latest generation of wireless technology. What does this mean for Alexandria residents and businesses? For one thing, faster mobile Internet speeds —up to 10 times faster than the 3G service to which most mobile users are accustomed.

The upgraded site, near Van Dorn Street and Holmes Run Parkway, will enable improved performance in the area. Consumers using innovative 4G LTE-compatible devices, like new smartphones, tablets and wearable tech items will notice the faster speeds.

“Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience, and they’ll be able to download, upload, stream and game faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network,” said J. Michael Schweder, president of AT&T Mid-Atlantic. “As part of the Alexandria community, we’re always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is another way we’re accomplishing that.”
