Bank Robbed Saturday Afternoon Inside Local Grocery Store
Suspect implied he had a weapon.

A bank inside a local grocery store was robbed Saturday afternoon, according to Fairfax County Police.
At 2:18 p.m. Saturday, a man entered the SunTrust Bank located at the Safeway grocery store at Crossroads Center in Bailey’s Crossroads, Fairfax County; he passed a note to a teller demanding money, according to police. A weapon was implied but no word from police on what the weapon may have been or if anyone saw it.
The suspect took cash and fled. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a black male, in his 30s, about 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall.
According to the bank Web site, the branch closes on Saturdays at 4 p.m.

This is at least the fourth bank robbery since June in the Falls Church area.

August 5 at the United Bank, 7787 Leesburg Pike: The bank robber rode off on a bicycle.
July 15 at the Capitol One Bank, 1100 W. Broad St.: The subject fled on foot.
June 27 at the Capitol One Bank, also at Crossroads Center: The robber was described as being tall, 6’1” to 6’3”.
