Edsall Road Robbery Wednesday Could Be Linked to More, Police Say

Latest in possible string by crime duo took place not too far from West End Alexandria.

Police are investigating a series of robberies that have taken place over recent weeks. The most recent robbery took place Wednesday not too far away from West End Alexandria. 

Here's what happened: At around 1 p.m., two men entered the convenience store at 6550 Edsall Road, approached the clerk with items as if to pay, assaulted the cashier, then took money and fled, according to Fairfax County Police.

In three of the other robberies, two men entered a 7-Eleven store, displayed a handgun, took money and fled. In another case, suspects attempted to rob a 22-year old woman while she walked in the 6300 block of Backlick Road in Springfield at around 1:45 p.m.

  • August 12 – 7-Eleven – 8146 Old Mount Vernon Road Alexandria
  • August 21 – 7-Eleven – 2305 Huntington Ave Alexandria
  • August 22 (Attempt strong arm robbery of citizen) – 6300 Backlick Road Springfield 
  • August 24 – 7-Eleven – 7225 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield 

Both suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Both are black, between 20-26 years old, and around 150-180 pounds. One suspect was seen in all black clothing and he was between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall with medium build. He wore a gray baseball cap with a white insignia. The other suspect was around 5 feet 11 to 6 feet 1 inches tall and wore hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

If seen, do not approach and call 911 immediately. Store employees should be cautious of any individuals wearing clothing abnormal for the weather conditions. Police remind everyone to call in suspicious persons or activity. These individuals are also believed to be responsible for numerous armed robberies in Prince William County and the City of Fredericksburg.
