'N-Bomb': LSD-Like Substance a Growing Threat in Virginia
Police are keeping an eye out for 'N-Bomb,' a synthetic drug that causes hallucinations.

An LSD-like substance commonly referred to as 'N-Bomb' has contributed to multiple deaths across the country, including one in New Orleans where a 21-year-old man died reportedly from ingesting one drop of it.
Locally, police are aware of the drug and are keeping an eye out for incidents involving it.
The potent substance is similar to other drugs in many ways, but it is chemically different, which is why the lines of legality on N-Bomb are blurry in some states.

Virginia is one of the few states where the substance is clearly banned. According to Virginia Code 54.1-3446, N-Bomb is a Schedule 1 drug.
Because the drug is so new, there are very few effective screens for it. Users can get it illegally online, frequently shipped from China, according to police.
