UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle Is In Serious Condition, Police Say
A 57-year old man was hit by a vehicle Thursday night; the driver remained on the scene, police said.

UPDATE Friday 12:15 p.m.: Alexandria Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that occurred on Thursday, near the intersection of Seminary Road and Hermitage Lane.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to the area for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Initial investigation shows a white vehicle traveling west on Seminary Road struck a passing pedestrian. The driver remained on the scene, police said. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Members of the Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the incident. The investigation is ongoing. The victim, a 57 year-old white male, is in serious condition, police said.
