Suspect Attempted to Rob Pedestrian in Bailey's Crossroads
Incident took place Tuesday afternoon on S. Jefferson Street.

Fairfax County Police report that a man attempted to rob a pedestrian Tuesday in the Bailey’s Crossroads area.
The attempted robbery took place in the 3500 block of South Jefferson Street Tuesday at about 2:50 p.m. The area is usually pretty busy, near shopping centers, banks and restaurants.
The victim was walking when he was approached by a man. The suspect demanded money then fled on foot. The victim did not require rescue.

The suspect was described as black, in his 40s, and between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 9 inches tall.
