Traffic Alert: Weekend Roadwork on Interstate 95
HOV lanes will close at 11 p.m. Friday, reopen Sunday morning.

Release:
Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-395/95 from the Washington, D.C. line to the end at Dumfries Road (Route 234), beginning at 11 p.m. Friday night, September 19 through 8 a.m. Sundaymorning, September 21. Drivers are advised that the closures will occur all day on Saturday, September 20. The HOV lanes are scheduled to reopen in the northbound direction on Sundaymorning at 8 a.m.
The lane closures are needed for ongoing construction work on the 95 Express Lanes Project including installation of overhead structures, paving and pulling fiber optic lines throughout the entire HOV facility. Drivers will be directed to use the general purpose lanes.
