VDOT: I-395 HOV Lanes to Be Closed All Weekend Starting Friday Night
Lanes will reopen for Monday morning commute at 5 a.m., according to VDOT.

Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-395/95 from the Washington, D.C., line to the end at Dumfries Road (Route 234), beginning at 11 p.m. Friday night, Sept. 26 through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29. Drivers are advised that the closures will be in place all day on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28. The HOV lanes will reopen in the northbound direction in time for the morning commute on Monday morning by 5 a.m.
The lane closures are needed to mobilize equipment for the I-395 HOV ramp project, which will provide access to the Mark Center, and for the installation of overhead structures, paving, and pulling fiber optic lines throughout the entire HOV facility for the ongoing construction of the 95 Express Lanes Project. Motorists will be directed to use the general purpose lanes.
