VDOT to Position Large Crane at Seminary Road Bridge for New Ramp

VDOT will close eastbound lanes of the bridge Sunday. Equipment will remain in the construction area for the next year.

On Sunday, Sept. 28, starting at 10 a.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the eastbound lanes of the Seminary Road Bridge over I-395 while a crane is moved into position, according to a news release from VDOT. Here’s more about it, from the release:

Motorists heading east on Seminary Road will be directed into the right lane on Seminary Road, just past Mark Center Drive, where they will continue east on the rotary-level interchange over I-395. The lanes will reopen by 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29.

The large crane that is being mobilized will remain in the Seminary Road/I-395 construction area for the next year as VDOT rebuilds the Seminary Road Bridge and builds a new ramp connecting the I-395 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes and Seminary Road.
