Weather Alert for Northern Virginia, DC

The National Weather Service Wednesday morning has extended a Coastal Flood Advisory for parts of Northern Virginia:

“Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 11 am Wednesday. The tidal anomaly is around a foot above normal. Expected impacts include minor shoreline inundation. A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.”

Areas impacted are:

• DC
• Alexandria
• Arlington
• Falls Church
