Alexandria’s War of 1812 Commemoration takes place this weekend, with a number of free events.
Cheer on your fellow Alexandrians as they take on the British as part of the official Alexandria War of 1812 Challenge.
Scheduled events include:

- Saturday, 3-4 p.m.: A US Navy Band Concert on Market Square
- Saturday, 4:30-5 p.m.: An honors ceremony featuring the Continental Color Guard with Fife and Drum at the Alexandria National Cemetery, 1450 Wilkes St.
- Sunday, 11 a.m.: An Alexandria/Britain Yacht race along the Potomac River, Old Dominion Boat Club)
- Sunday, Noon - 5 p.m.: A festival with music, games and demonstrations at Waterfront Park, 1A Prince St.
