1 Killed In Early-Morning Shooting In Dumfries: Police

The shooting happened Saturday morning in the area of Williamstown and Old Triangle roads, Prince William County police said.

DUMFRIES, VA — A man is dead following an early-morning shooting in Dumfries on Saturday, according to Prince William County police.

Just after 5:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of Williamstown and Old Triangle roads after multiple people reported hearing gunshots. When officers arrived, they found a car near Morgan Court that was struck by gunfire, police said.

Officers found a man inside the car with gunshot injuries, police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A police K-9 searched the area and found no one else nearby, police said.

Authorities have not released the victim's name pending notification of family.
