Student Taken To Hospital After He Was Assaulted By 3 Boys At Freedom High School: Police

A teenage boy was taken to a hospital after he was kicked in the head multiple times by other students at Freedom High School, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 15-year-old boy was assaulted by three other students at Freedom High School on Friday afternoon, the police department said in a report. Police said the victim was punched and kicked in the head multiple times.

The 15-year-old boy was originally treated by the school nurse. He was taken to an area hospital later in the day; authorities said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Authorities said another 15-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys assaulted the victim. The police department did not publicly name any of the children involved.

The Prince William County Police Department said the case resulted in informal action for the boys. Police said the decision was made after consultation with Juvenile Court Services, and future actions would be handled through the juvenile diversion process.

Police said the incident occurred around 12:50 p.m. on Friday. The 15-year-old victim had an argument in a hallway with one of the 17-year-old boys. The 17-year-old punched and kicked the victim when the argument escalated, police said.

School staff members separated the two boys when another 15-year-old and another 17-year-old started to hit the victim.

The victim initially received treatment from the school nurse, though he was taken to a local hospital later in the day.

Through their investigation, police officers determined that the boys all knew each other.
