3 Injured In Separate Shootings In Woodbridge, Dale City: Police

Two shootings on Thursday night in Woodbridge and Dale City left three men injured, the Prince William County Police Department said.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Two shootings in eastern Prince William County left three men injured on Thursday night, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities have not identified any suspects in either shooting.

The shootings took place on East Longview Court in Woodbridge and on Kittredge Court in Dale City, police said. Two men were injured in the Woodbridge shooting and one was injured in Dale City. All three victims survived, though one suffered life-threatening injuries before being stabilized, according to a report from the police department.

The shooting in the 13100 block of Kittredge Court in Dale City was reported to authorities at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19. When they arrived on the scene, officers were told that a man with a gunshot wound had entered a nearby home.

Officers entered the home and provided first aid to the victim, who they identified as a 24-year-old man, until rescue personnel arrived. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but authorities said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Through their investigation, officers determined that the victim was in Kittredge Court when he was shot. He initially fled on foot before entering a home, where police were then contacted.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark colored sedan flee the area after shots were fired, according to the police report. Authorities do not believe the incident was random.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers received a report of another shooting at the Bayside Apartments in the 1300 block of East Longview Court. Residents told authorities that they heard multiple gunshots, according to the police report.

Officers believe that a group of people were gathered in the parking lot when a dark-colored vehicle entered the lot. "As the vehicle drove out of the parking lot, the occupants of the vehicle began firing rounds striking two men, multiple apartments, and several vehicles," the police department wrote.

Two victims were identified in the shooting: a 29-year-old man and a 43-year-old man. Both men were taken to nearby hospitals.

The 29-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries, but he is now in stable condition, police said. The 43-year-old received treatment at the hospital and was released.

Investigators with the police department's Violent Crimes Bureau are looking to speak with anyone who may have more information about what happened during the two incidents and what led to the shootings.
