82-Year-Old Woman Dies After Dumfries House Fire: Police
An 82-year-old woman has died from injuries she suffered during a house fire on Tuesday, Feb. 1, according to police.
DUMFRIES, VA — An 82-year-old woman has died from injuries suffered during a Dumfries house fire on Tuesday morning, according to police. Police identified the woman as Dorothy Saddler of Dumfries.
Rescue personnel were called at 1:48 a.m. to fire in a residence in the 17300 block of Tripoli Boulevard in Dumfries, according to police reports. After arriving at the scene, Prince William Department of Fire and Rescue personnel found Saddler inside the residence.
Fire crews helped her out of the building, and she was then taken to an area hospital for treatment. She was then flown to a burn center in Washington, D.C., where she later died from her injuries, according to police reports.

A 56-year- old man who lived at the home was able to escape the residence on his own. Authorities said he suffered minor injuries, though they did not release his name.
Saddler's cause of death and the cause of the fire are both under a joint investigation by Prince William County Police detectives and investigators from the Department of Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's office.
