WOODBRIDGE, VA – The 16-year-old who was shot during a car meet early on Saturday morning has died of his injuries, police say.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, a 16-year-old boy who was shot during a car meet in the 14100 block of Crossing Place in Woodbridge died of his injuries in a local hospital on Sunday. Police say his death has been declared a homicide and they will not be releasing the boy's identity.
Police reported earlier on Monday that they'd been alerted to the crime when the boy was first taken to the hospital. Responding to the scene of the shooting at 2:02 a.m. Saturday, police say they found shell casings and evidence of a fight, but no witnesses or participants. No information about a suspect has been released.
