2. Lyft driver arrested, charged with abducting 2 women in Woodbridge: Police (dcnewsnow.com) — Police say a Lyft driver abducted two women in Woodbridge after an argument over a discounted fare, briefly preventing them from leaving his car on Noble Fir Court. The Falls Church man later turned himself in and now faces abduction and reckless driving charges. No one was hurt, but residents may want to stay alert when using rideshares locally.
3. Widespread rotten-egg smell reported Saturday morning in Prince William and into Stafford (potomaclocal.com) — Residents in several Woodbridge neighborhoods reported a strong sulfur or rotten-egg smell Saturday morning, with many noticing it most intensely around breakfast time before it faded by afternoon. Officials in Prince William and nearby counties have not yet identified a source or issued health guidance, and local agencies and utilities are still reviewing inquiries about possible causes.
4. Woman accused of double murder arrested after eluding police for weeks (wsbtv.com) — A woman accused of killing two VDOT contractors, including a 30-year-old man from Woodbridge, has been arrested in North Carolina after weeks on the run. Authorities say the July shooting at a Chesterfield County equipment yard was domestic-violence related. Families of the victims described their ongoing grief as Virginia officials work to extradite the suspect back to face murder charges.
