Thursday morning, police responded to a tip about potential animal cruelty. An investigation found that Bledsoe had left his two dogs in unsafe condition May 19 before he left around 10 a.m. When another resident of the apartment returned home about seven hours later, the dogs were dead.
Shortly before 4 p.m. last Sunday, animal control officers responded to the scene after a report from a caller who'd been walking along the path and found a dead male pit bull inside a duffel bag, which he had unzipped. After animal control arrived, they found another pit bull, this one a female, a short distance away in a plastic storage container.
