Victim Hospitalized After A Drink Was Thrown At Him At The Cheesecake Factory: Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man from Woodbridge is wanted by police after an assault at the Cheesecake Factory on Thursday evening. The man, 29-year-old Demarcus Leon Crooks, is accused of throwing his drink at another patron, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department.

The assault occurred just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27. At that time, deputies responded to the restaurant on Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, told police that he was at the restaurant with an acquaintance when they began arguing. The acquaintance was later identified as Crooks.

When the argument escalated, the acquaintance threw his drink at the victim, according to the police report. Authorities claimed that Crooks then struck the victim before leaving the restaurant.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police officers obtained arrest warrants for Crooks, but they have been unable to locate him so far.

Crooks is described as a Black man who is about 6 feet, 6 inches tall. He weighs approximately 200 pounds, police said. He has long brown twists and brown eyes.

Police believe that Crooks lives in the 15000 block of Sunny Ridge Court in Woodbridge. He is charged with one count of malicious wounding.
