Masked Men Tried To Abduct 10-Year-Old Boy Walking To Bus Stop In Woodbridge: Police

Authorities said two men tried to pull a 10-year-old into their vehicle as he walked to his bus stop in Woodbridge on Wednesday morning.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two men tried to abduct a 10-year-old boy who was walking to his bus stop on Wednesday morning, the Prince William County Police Department said.

The boy was able to break free from his kidnapper and ran home to his family.

Investigators said the man who grabbed the boy was a Black man with the number "2" tattooed on his neck. He was wearing a ski mask.

The would-be kidnapper's getaway driver was wearing a ski mask, a blue shirt, and black pants, according to the police department.

The police department did not have a detailed description of the suspects' vehicle.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in the 2800 block of Gloucester Drive in Woodbridge. The victim said he was walking to his bus stop when a masked man approached him.

The masked man grabbed the boy "without provocation," according to the police report. The suspect did not say anything to the boy.

The boy broke free and ran away, while the suspect got into his vehicle as his accomplice drove away.

"Detectives with the Special Victims Bureau are actively investigating the incidents and are seeking to speak with anyone who may have seen the suspects in the area at the time of the assault," the police department said in a release.
