Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested On Wednesday In Manassas: Police

Police officers arrested a man on Wednesday in connection with a bank robbery that happened in Manassas on Monday.

MANASSAS, VA — Authorities arrested a man accused of robbing a bank in Manassas earlier this week.

No injuries were reported in the bank robbery. However, police officers said the suspect injured himself by hitting his head in a police car. He was treated at a hospital for a cut on his head, according to the police report.

The Prince William County Police Department identified the suspect as 29-year-old Jake Thomas Love. He is charged with one count of robbery, one count of obstruction of justice, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

If convicted of all charges, Love could face up to 8 years in prison, based on Virginia's guidelines.

On Monday afternoon, Love walked into the Bank of America on Donegan Drive and demanded money from the teller, according to the police report. He did not have a weapon, but the teller complied.

Love then ran out of the bank with an unspecified amount of cash, authorities said. A police helicopter and K-9 searched for Love on Monday, but they could not find him.

On Wednesday, police officers found Love in Manassas. Authorities said Love fled before they were able to take him into custody.

As they arrested Love, officers said they found illegal narcotics.
